Our Story

A thread
that runs
three generations
deep.

Born in Jaipur. Carried forward with intention. Made for the home that dares to feel something.

Origin · 2021

In the quiet of a pandemic, when the world stopped moving, one question refused to stay still:

Why couldn't an Indian home tell its own story — beautifully, boldly, and without apology?

Scroll to explore

The family has worked with cloth, craft, and colour since 1987. Three generations of hands knowing the weight of good cotton, the pull of a well-embroidered stitch, the particular warmth of a natural dye catching afternoon light.

But it took a pandemic — and a year of stillness — to ask the harder question. The world had gone indoors. Home had become everything: office, sanctuary, creative outlet, emotional anchor. And yet, for those who wanted their home to feel like something — layered, expressive, unapologetically alive — there was a gap. A large, obvious, Indian gap.

The founder had long admired brands abroad that understood the home as a canvas — spaces where design felt playful, personal, and deeply human. That sensibility existed nowhere in the Indian market. Not with craft at its core. Not with this kind of intention.

So in 2021, Eyes of Gypsy was born — not as a pivot, but as a homecoming.

"We didn't want to import an aesthetic.
We wanted to excavate one — from our own soil, our own stitches, our own sense of beauty." — Eyes of Gypsy, Jaipur

What we
believe

01
The Beauty of Imperfection

Handmade is not a compromise. It is the luxury. The slight variation in a stitch, the ±1 inch that no machine would allow — these are the fingerprints of the artisan. We celebrate them, never correct them.

02
Material Authenticity

Only natural fabrics. Always. Cotton velvet with its luxe weight. Handwoven cotton with its breathing, rustic weave. Repurposed Kantha patchwork with its vintage soul and sustainable second life.

03
Heritage Adaptation

Suzani-inspired embroidery on a contemporary silhouette. Hand-tied tassels on a minimalist pouf. Block-printing on curtains built for today's rooms. The craft is ancient. The home it lives in is now.

04
Tactile Versatility

An ottoman is seating today, a footrest tomorrow, a coffee table by the weekend. Our pieces are designed for real homes — spaces that shift and breathe with the people who live in them.

Made slowly.
Made once.
Made for you.

Nothing at Eyes of Gypsy is warehoused. Nothing is mass-produced. Every piece is made to order — a deliberate choice that eliminates waste, honours the artisan's time, and ensures that what arrives at your door was made thinking of you specifically.

Our Promise

Your home is a canvas.
We make the colours.

Eyes of Gypsy exists for the ones who refuse to settle. Who see a corner of their home and imagine it richer, layered, more alive. Who want their space to tell a story — their story — not a showroom catalogue's.

We make pieces rooted in the embroidery traditions, Kantha patchwork, and natural dye heritage of India — reimagined for the modern, maximalist home. Every thread connects a living craft tradition to a living room that deserves it.
